The Rams girls lacrosse team earned its 12th straight Regional title Friday night, May 31, against Grandville High School. Grandville entered their first Regional final in program history while the Rams were playing in their 12th consecutive final. The Rams dominated the game from the start, earning the 24-3 victory, along with the Regional Championship
The Rams jumped out to the lead early and never looked back, earning a 10-goal lead half way through the first half earning their 12th straight berth in the MHSAA D1 State Semis.
Leading the Ram assault, were McKenna Rinehart with four goals and two assists, Izzy Holmes with four goals and one assist , Sydney Zimmerman with two goals and two assists, and Sarah Gilchrist with three goals. Also scoring for the Rams were Karrington VanderMolen, Chloe Dunham, Chloe Holmes, Katie Rodriguez, Madi Kleefisch, Mackenzie Delacher, and Sydney Walsh.
The Ram’s stingy defense was led by Kleefisch , Shae Strehl, Anna Glynn and Bailey Banfield in front of keepers Maddy Yakes and Morgan Hall.
The Rams attempt at seven straight State titles (and their 8th overall) continues Wednesday, June 5, at Grand Ledge against Birmingham United at 7:30 p.m.
