Rams Boys Cross Lands 5th in Ottawa Kent Meet

GRAND RAPIDS – The boys cross country team competed in the Ottawa Kent County Meet, Saturday, Oct. 12, and landed in fifth place in the 14-team event. Cedar Springs landed first with a total of 35 points, with Lowell claiming second with 52. Forest Hills Central placed third with 86, East Kentwood earned fourth with 96, and Rockford rounded out the top five with 159.

Ram junior Kaiden Hunt led the Rockford team, landing 25th out of 149 runners with a time of 17:34.3. Freshman Colin Graham placed 28th, clocking in at 17:42.2, and sophomore Carson Lafferty landed 31st with a time of 17:45.3. Senior Kyle Herman placed 43rd at 18:05.2, and junior Sam Johnson rounded out the top five for the Rams crossing the line in 46th with a time of 18:09.8.

Other finishes for the Rams were: Evan Veldkamp (61), Charles Lewis (65), William Carlson (75), Bryce Ronk (84), and Trenton Winter (85).

The Rams will now prepare for the OK Red Conference Meet. It will take place at Riverside Park, Thursday, Oct. 17.
