ROCKFORD – The Rams varsity volleyball team played host for the MHSAA District 12 playoffs and welcomed the Northview Wildcats. The Rams proved to be rather inhospitable hosts in action, rolling over Northview in just three sets. Rockford handily claimed the match, 25-12, 25-19, and 25-11 to claim the victory. The win moves the team’s overall record to 26-23-2 on the season.
The Rams started out strong and never looked back. They tallied 31 kills on the night with Claire Phillips pacing the team with eight. Julia Kwast tallied five, and Madelyn Long, Megan Witte and Ava Young registered four apiece. Long tallied three aces, Mara Stevens notched two and Annie Macintosh had one.
The team had 52 digs on the night, with Long leading the Rams with 15, Alina Anderson tallied 11, Mackenzie Delacher had nine, and Kwast recorded seven. Delacher tallied 27 assists to help the Ram cause.
