ROCKFORD – The Rams girls varsity basketball team played host to Spring Lake, Tuesday, Dec. 4, to kick off their season and showed to be inhospitable hosts with a lopsided 51-35 victory. The Rams came onto the court with plenty of gusto, grabbing the lead immediately and never looking back. The win starts Rockford’s season off at 1-0.
"The girls had a wonderful 20-2 run to start the game,” said Ram head coach Bradley Wilson. “Spring Lake responded very well, and our team faced its first adversity situation. As a team, we didn’t waver in our confidence and finished strong.”
Setting the pace for the Rams offense were Anna Glynn with 10 points, Syd Reinke, who tallied nine points, and Megan McCauley, who finished with eight points.
“I’m very proud of the girls,” concluded Wilson. “We are looking forward to our game on Friday!”
The Rams will travel to Northview, Friday, Dec. 7, to take on the Wildcats. Tip-off is at 7 p.m.
