Boys Cross Team Claims First

Jack Grimm finished fifth, and was the top finisher for the Rams.

PORTAGE – The Rockford Ram boys cross country team took a trip to Portage, Friday, August 17, to compete in the Portage Central Early Bird Meet and showed the competition they’re ready for the season. The team started their first meet with a bang, coming home with a first-place finish.

Twenty teams and 370 runners toed the line in the boys competition and Rockford was able to claim the meet with 65 points. Lowell was next closest to the Rams with 110 points. Ram senior Jack Grimm led the pack of orange, claiming a fifth place, clocking in at 16:56. Sophomore Jude Parks also broke the top-ten, finishing in eighth place with a time of 17:07.
