The Rockford High School gymnastics team had a big season last year. Head coach Michelle Ankney led her team to quite a few accomplishments in her inaugural season. The team claimed the OK Red Title, their MHSAA Regional, and topped it off with a third-place finish at the MHSAA State Championships. This eager team is looking to build on that success for this season.

The roster returns the talents of Reagan Ammon, Morgan Case, Chantel Lokers, and Ashley Faulkner, who bring plenty of experience to the Rams. The roster also features key newcomer Joey Gair, who is sure to add points to an already strong team.

“We placed third at state last year and the girls want to show improvement this year,” said Ankney. “It is great having the same team back from last year and improving upon ourselves by adding new freshmen.”

Coach Ankney will lean on talented assistant coaches Jenelle Ensing and Kaley Marland to hone the team’s gymnastic skills.

“I am looking forward to watching each girl improve and grow as a gymnast this year,” concluded Ankney. “This team has a lot of goals for this year, and they are ready to work hard and keep improving. It will be exciting to see where this year leads!”
