Rockford girls lacrosse team

The Lady Rams lacrosse team dominated from the opening draw defeating Birmingham United in their home season opener, Saturday, March 24, at The TED. The game was a rematch of the 2017 state final game, which was also won by Rockford.
Brooklyn Neuman, Mekenzie VanderMolen, Maggie Hammer and Sydney Zimmerman dominated the draw winning 24-of-30 to spark the offense. Brooklyn Neumen tallied six goals, and one assist and Mekenzie VanderMolen had four goals, three assists to lead the Ram scoring. Alsoc scoring for the Rams were Izzy Holmes with four goals, and two assists, Sydney Zimmerman with two goals, three assists, freshman Katie Rodrigues with five goals, Maggie Hammer with two goals, and one assist, Lilly Newmann with two goals, Chloe Dunham with one goal, and McKenna Rinehart added an assist to round out the Rockford offensive onslaught.
The team obviously controlled the ball offensively and when the ball crossed the center line, the defensive team stepped up. The Rams defense is made up of Bailey Banfield, Anna Glynn, Hannah Heeren, Madi Kleefisch, Shae Strehl, and Hannah Thompkins.
