The Rams return 13 talented players and have eight strong newcomers who are working hard to help push Rockford to the next level this season.
“This is a fun team to coach,” said head coach Stu Quackenbush. “Great young men who are learning to love each other, love the game, and so far are willing to be pushed to work hard and improve.”
The Rams feature great leadership on the team, with captains Sayvion Young, Trevor Durfee, and Aaron Carr leading the Rams both on and off the field.
Showing great depth, many of the key attacking players are returners and the group is led by 4-year varsity player Jake Pellerito, Trevor Durfee, Adam Goushaw, and Ben Joseff. The Rams also have a strong and gritty midfield led by Matt Brower and 3-year varsity player Aaron Carr, who is one of the best keepers in the state of Michigan. Schuyler Norton and Sayvion Young both return as center backs to lead a backline that is fast and physical, and the Rams have several talented outside backs, led by Aiden Corpe who is also dangerous going forward and helps Rockford possession as they bring the ball up the field.
“The sky is the limit for this group, but our success will completely depend on how hard we work and how much we trust each other,” concluded Quackenbush. “If we can work hard and grow as a team who takes care of each other it will be an exciting year.”
