Ram softball down West Ottawa 12-1

The Ram varsity softball team topped conference foe West Ottawa in an away contest played, Thursday, May 3. The Rams were able to earn a 12-1 victory on the diamond tallying 12 hits on the night.

The Rams started out the game with hot bats, plating three runs in the first inning. West Ottawa was able to score a run in the bottom of the third, but that was the only time the Panthers would touch home plate as a team. The Rams scored three more runs in each of the fourth, fifth and seventh innings to put the game away 12-1.

The Rams had a big day at the plate, with 11 Rockford players tallying a hit in the game, and eight of those notching an RBI. Chloe Bowen tallied two hits. Jenna Davis and Lauren Lanphear each had a double for Rockford. Mykayla Vallad and Katie Wendtland had two RBI apiece. Davis got the win in the circle for Rockford, giving up one run on six hits.
