GREENSBORO, NC – Six Rockford Ram track stars, competing for the Rocktown Track Club, took the long trip to North Carolina to compete in the 28th edition of the 2018 New Balance Outdoor Nationals, June 15-17. The six – Taylor Korytkowski, Casey Lenon, Grace Gohl, Abby Nash, Dayton Brown and Noah Stallworth did a fantastic job on the track at Aggie Stadium representing Rockford in the extremely competitive national event.
The Rams competed in two different divisions – the Emerging Elite (EE) and also at the Championship Level.
Korytkowski, Lenon, Gohl, and Nash ran in four relay events. In the Sprint Medley Relay EE, the team landed seventh place with a time of 1:48.83. They also ran in the Swedish Relay Championship, which is a 100-200-300-400 relay and landed in 11th place with a time of 2:17.97. They also placed 11th in the 4X100 EE Relay crossing the line at 48.88. In the 4X200 Relay Championship, they finished in 12th place with a time of 1:42.13. Lenon also competed in the EE high jump and placed 16th. Stallworth ran in two EE races, placing 16th in the 100m dash with a time of 11.02 and 19th place in the 200m clocking in at 22.13. Brown competed in the EE 2 mile run and placed 25th with a time of 10:10.46.
