Rams Cheer Teams Shine in Competition

ROCKFORD – The East Rockford and North Rockford Middle School combined to put together two incredible teams of athletes for the competitive cheer season. The teams hosted the Rockford Invitational last Saturday, Dec. 1, and wowed both the judges and their fans with some stellar performances.

The eighth-grade team was just edged out by Jenison for first place in the event, claiming impressive runner-up status in their season opener. Jenison was able to tally 331.54 points, with Rockford earning 327.84 points. Grandville followed in third with 291.74, and a combined Hudsonville/Baldwin team landed in fourth with 286.10. Fifth place was claimed by Tri-County with 283.58, and West Ottawa earned sixth with 241.32.

The seventh-grade team claimed a fourth-place finish in their division, while honing their skills and earning valuable experience in the competitive world of cheer.
