Rams Roll Over Forest Hills

ROCKFORD – The Rockford gymnastics team played host to Forest Hills, Wednesday, Jan. 16, for their second dual meet of the season. The Rams were able to claim the victory by amassing a score of 143.875, while Forest Hills finished with 136.55.

On their way to the victory, Rockford claimed high team score over Forest Hills on every apparatus. Gymnast Morgan Case led the Rams with top performances on both the Balance Beam, and the Floor Exercise, earning the top two scores of the evening at 9.65 for both.

Reagan Ammon claimed first for the Rams in the Vault with a 9.05, and she was followed by Ashley Faulkner with an 8.9. Avery Nixon landed in third for the Rams with a 8.6, and Joey Gair rounded out the scoring with an 8.55. The scores earned the Rams a 35.1 on the apparatus, compared to a 33.9 for Forest Hills.

On the Uneven Bars, Ashley Faulkner led the way for the Rams with a 9.1. Reagan Ammon tallied an 8.675 for second, and Morgan Case netted an 8.325, and Averi Nixon scored an 8.275 to round out the scoring for the team’s 34.375. Forest Hills was able to tally a score of 32.8.

The Rams earned high marks on the always tough Balance Beam. Three Rams scored in the 9’s – with Morgan Case earning an impressive 9.65. She was followed closely by Reagan Ammon, with a 9.5. Also earning high marks was Ashley Faulkner with a 9.25. Helping the Ram cause, and adding valuable points, was Jordan Rogers who landed an 8.025. Rams claimed the apparatus with a 35.45, followed by Forest Hills with a 34.675.

Morgan Case also led the Rams in the Floor Exercise, wowing the judges and earning a 9.65. Ashley Faulkner earned second with a 9.5, and Averi Nixon with a 9/425, and Reagan Ammon with a 9.375 rounded out the scoring for the Rams. The Rams tallied a 37.95 to claim the Floor, with Forest Hills scoring a 35.175.

 The Rams get to stay home for their next meet against Kenowa Hills. The Rams will host the Knights, Monday, Jan. 21. The meet will begin at 7 p.m.
