Fresh off clinching the regular season Little Caesars Amateur Hockey League (LCAHL) Howe 1-Orange Division championship, the Rams Hockey 16 and Under hockey team competed in the Michigan Amateur Hockey Association (MAHA) District 6 Tournament against the top teams in West Michigan, February 1-3. Under the direction of Head Coach Carl Mokosak and Assistant Coach Paul Ogden, the Rams Hockey squad showed strength and resilience to capture the MAHA District 6 16U title.

Over the course of the tournament weekend, the Rams outscored their opponents 18-3. The run included three shut out performances by goal tenders Brooke Thompson (Rockford High School Freshman) and Ashton Fletcher (RHS Sophomore). The Rams hoisted the championship trophy, in dominating fashion, with a 5-0 shutout of the Fox Motors 16U team.

"They told me they were ready at the start of the championship game and they were," Coach Mokosak said after the victory. "I am just as proud of this group as anyone could be!"

The team will now compete for the MAHA State Title in Cheboygan the weekend of March 15-17. Good luck Rams, the entire Rams Hockey Association is behind you! For more information about youth hockey in our area and the Rams Hockey Association, go to www.ramshockey.org
