ROCKFORD – The Rams gymnastics team celebrated Senior Night, Monday, Feb. 4, with a huge conference win over Forest Hills by a 141.45-136.175 score. The victory keeps the Rams’ undefeated record in the conference intact heading into the Conference Meet later in the month.
The team claimed three of the four rotations and actually tied for first in the fourth, the uneven bars, on their way to the victory. Showing depth, the Rams had eight gymnasts contribute to the victory with their high scores.
The Rams also paid tribute to three seniors – Taylor Cullen, Chantel Lokers, and Reagan Ammon, and thanked them for all their hard work and dedication throughout the years.
Morgan Case paced the Rams, earning top scores in both the vault and the floor exercise. In the vault she earned top honors with a 9.525, while teammates Reagan Ammon (9.35), Taylor Cullen (9.15) and Nicole Curtis (8.975) rounded out the Rams’ scoring.
The uneven bars found Ammon leading the way with an 8.65, tying with the Forest Hills gymnast for top score. She was followed by Chantel Lokers (8.2), Joey Gair (7.8), and Curtis (7.5).
Caleigh Kusmierski had a big night on the balance beam, tallying a score of 9.125 from the judges. Ammon was close behind, registering an 8.95. Lokers (8.8) and Curtis (8.75) rounded out the Rams’ scoring.
Case landed top score in the final event of the evening, the floor exercise, registering an impressive 9.45 score. She was followed by Averi Nixon ((9.35), Lokers (9.025) and Ammon (8.85) to help the Rams earn the victory.
The B Team will compete at home on Monday, Feb. 11, and then the Rams will compete in the Conference Meet, Thursday, Feb. 14, at Kenowa Hills High School.
