11U All-Stars Close Memorable Season

GRAND RAPIDS – Another Rockford team put their season in the books, with the Rockford 11U All-Stars finishing up their 2018 Little League campaign, Thursday, July 26. Rockford faced off against the always-tough Georgetown and fell 7-2 for their second loss in the double elimination District 9 tournament.

Rockford gave their fans plenty of great memories along the way – including their first win in the tournament where the team plated an incredible 34 runs against Northern and their epic walk-off 14-13 win against Western to claim their pool. In their campaign, the team rose up and topped Western twice in pool play after falling to them initially by an 8-2 score. Rockford pushed 75 runs across the plate in their seven games of competition, while holding their opponents to 41.

The team’s roster featured the talents of Reed Binney, Ty Blystone, Grayson Campbell, Liam Fitzpatrick, Dawson Hunter, Jed Huyser, Blake Linsley, Cam Meier, Tobin Pokorzynski, Jacob Soltys, Josiah Vega, and Carter Zillmer, They were coached by Ryan Blystone, Ryan Pokorzynski and Ben Huyser, who taught them the value in believing in yourself as a team and what a good attitude can accomplish when you are down.
