ROCKFORD – The Rockford High School Girls Bowling Team showed they were a force to be reckoned with during their final regular match of the season.
On the final day of the 2018/19 conference season, the Lady Rams emerged victorious at the post-conference meet, Friday, Feb. 15. Trailing Grand Haven by 15 pins after the singles events, Rockford shot out of the gate with an opening 204 in Baker matches to reclaim the lead and never looked back. That, combined with a dominating 9-1 record in match play – as well as a second-place finish at the pre-conference meet – means your new OK Red Conference Champs are the Lady Rams!
The Rams earning the Red title puts an end to a six-year championship streak for Caledonia High School.
Congratulations goes to Heather Buck for making the All-Tournament Team. Heather earned the conference high average title, with a 207, and Isabelle Brekke earned third at 190, narrowly missing second by less than one pin per game. The rest of the Ram starting lineup all finished in the top 12 in averages, showing incredible depth for the team.
